XR 750 to XR 1200

Damn, the XR750 must be my all time favorite Harley-Davidson Factory machine. Everything is right on this übercool machine. This is one machine I would never chop.
( And will never own I'm affraid!)

Now yesterday I received an E-mail from Kelly Yahr, a representative of the Harley Davidson company. She came across my blog an thought I might be interessted in some info on the just released XR 1200. Now, as I told her, I'm not really a Factory-bike kind of guy, but the XR 1200 is something different. This bike looks like one hell of a ride. Man, would I have a lot of fun on this machine. Of course the XR1200 is inspired by the XR750. It's a streetmachine this time, and it looks like a whole lotta fun!!

Thanks for the pics and info Kelly!!

The Hadee Store

It's been snowing here for a few days and now it has started to rain. The road has changed in a mudhole!!The right time to tear my bike apart for some minor changes.
For some parts and oil I went to the Hadee Store. The Hadee Store used to be a 20 minute ride away from where I live but about a year ago owner Dik moved his shop to an old farm up north. But the shop is worth the ride. It's a real biker store, a huge amount of second hand parts ( you can buy new parts as well), a good atmosphere and always a fresh cup of coffee and a nice conversation.
The new shop is much bigger an good lookin' than the old one so I don't blame him for movin' it.

Parts, parts, parts.......
Need cool pegs?

More bike expo

Many shops and companys at the bike-expo to promote their shit. Area 9, selling Mooneyes parts and Dickies clothes, had this really rad Hot-Rod. COOL!! L&L choppers showed their Attack-kits for Evo-Sportsters. I really digged this two sampler bikes.

Bike builder SPS showed their second price winning bike in the S&S build off. A wild impression of a boardtracker with many cool details.

roadside repair

When you like vintage motorbike's you'll have to fix it every now and then, here and there. It's part of the game! I've had this crap for more than 15 years now, but still I do like this old shit more than anything else!!

And the winner is....

Andy's Jelly Roll!!!
Now, this bike was not taking part in the Bigtwin chopper contest. The bike was build a few years ago and was almost hidden behind the booth from DBBP. It's near perfect!! Even the blue super sixties strangely fit in. This was my favorite of the day, no doubt!! And it's for sale!!

Mark was tryin' to sober up during the day. Kickin' the knuckle alive every now and than.

Bigtwin Bike expo 2008, a good place to see....

... lots of choppers!!!

It's always sad to see so many bullshit choppers on show's like this. It probably took a lot of labor to put it together, but i'ts just not wat I think choppers is about!!

It was just so much fun to find, between all hightech choppers..... Tjebbe's 70's Shovel!!!
Everything 'bout this bike says " Fuck ya'll!!" This bike is so pure, so ugly, I love it!! Diesty's Panhead!!

Philip's Shovel!!And I love the seat Peer made for this bike!!

This was one of the winners in the Oldskool class. Robin's very neat Panhead!! A great paintjob, though I think it distracts a bit from all beautiful details. It's cool to see that Tjeerd's Yamaha won a price! It proofs that it's still possible to win at a show like this with a low budget, home made chopper!! One of my favorites has to be Andy's pricewinning super-freaky Panhead! So many details, crazy as hell!!
