Dark moment

A couple of years ago I went to the Bottrop Kustom Kulture show in Germany. I left early and on the way I picked up ZZ chop's Tjebbenator. Together we passed the border and the weather was as good as can be. We enjoyed the ride and after a couple of hours we reached the party ground.
Just as we passed the entrance my engine went dead, just like that! At this time of day this was the most crowded place of the show. So here I was, kicking my lungs out, everybody was watching and the bike did absolutely nothing. I refused to take the bike and walk to my spot, so I did what I had to do and after a while, and a lot of sweat, the bike finally started to roar.
I hoped this insident would be forgotten in time, but I found out someone took pictures of this dark moment......

So, thanks Paul for making this a moment no one will ever forget.....

When they were Kings.

Pictures hardly come any better than this one!!

Irresistable!

So Case came by to tell me about a secret plan he had. I offered him a cup of coffee, but he then told me he didn't drink any coffee. What's kind of weird I think. He told me his secret and then Jessey came by. Jessey took two croisants, but there where three of us, so Jessey decided to eat both by himself. At that time Case didn't want to continue telling me about his crazy plans and Jessey asked me for a plate for his two croisants. I gave him a Teletubbie plate from my youngest son and a cup of coffee, because Jessey does drink coffee. But than, and now it's getting good, Jessey threw a small golden racing car on the table. It looked rather old but was still on the original card. And guess what? Jessey took it for me! Why? Because no one, and I really mean no one, can resist a vintage golden race car!!

Can't find much on the net, but it's from 1968 folks!

Thanks dude, love ya!

Flakekings burnout bash!!

Now, there are a few simple rules in life. Like when you are being invited for a party with the Flakekings. You don't hesitate, you'll party!!

Like they say: Show up or shut up!!
To many cool projects to ignore!
And with so many creative people in one room
you can expect a few home made gifts for the guys!

Like this metalflake "Flakekings" bat by el Cheapo!

Or this wicked "Flakekings" oil can!

Giant "Flakeking" stickers by Guzzmen!

And well, I painted this "Flakekings" billboard for the Gods of Sparkle!

'Cause you can't come empty handed!

No chance to get cold!

Gus knows!

And, well......... no, you don't wanna know!

Thanks Amigos for your hospitality!

Good times, good peoples!

Bullitt's '68 Ford Mustang Fastback

I just couldn't resist this one! A 1:25 model of Frank Bullitt's Ford Mustang. Already had the smaller model by Corgi, both with a groovy Steve mcQueen figure.
The man and the car in action!

The Blob...

Oh hell, I'll do two Steve mcQueen posts!
Next to a cool actor and racing driver, mcQueen was a bike and Car collector. He called this 1947 Indian Chopper "the Blob", after one of his films. He loved to get out of it all on this bike and he always took his sleeping bag.

It's in the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa now.

Lake ride

Nice ride with Martin last week. With a touch of autumn in the air, but not actually cold,

we realized summer's gonna be over really soon now.

Couldn't resist to take the camera and shoot some pics and film.

I had not to much footage but still made about a minute of film of it.

Just an Impression of the ride.

Oh, and why not make something cool of a picture from me and Martin!

The gastank right on top is the tank Martin was running this day.

But as some of you might have noticed, Martin's bike looks quite different every time!

Opening Kustom Korner

Yesterday we went to the opening of a new shop in Ede, the Netherlands; the Kustom Korner. Buddy Rinus came all the way from the south with his great Shovel Chopper in the back of his van. It was the plan to take the bikes to the party, but the weather was so bad, we had to hold our breath outside, or we would have drowned for sure! So we took the Sub-Mobile and picked up Jessey and Martin.

We went to pick up ZZ-chop's Tjebbe and tried to steal as many cool parts as possible from his Sick Shack. Without succes by the way!

The rain seemed to be over for a while, and with just a few miles to the party

Tjebbe pulled out one of his bikes and escorted us in style!

Now Kustom Korner is actually four firms together; "Short-Cut Choppers","Customs and Classics", "Ledsled Customs" and "Kustom Bart".

In the Short Cut Choppers workshop we saw these great choppers. The Honda is well known in the family, and overrules all choppers I know!

Very nice bikes in the showroom!

And a lot of cool parts! Thanks for the Beer and the Hot-Dogs guys!

And on the way home we something unknown....... the sun!
