Touring the Lowlands with Lutz and Rico Fodrey, part2

With just a few hours left on the wednesday we had not to much time left. I desided to go to the "Batavia ship building yard" where they rebuild Dutch 17th century ships. And they do it the old, traditional way. We all loved the craftmanship, the traditional tools end the smell of wood and ropes.

Most populair was, no surprise, the Blacksmit!
All steel parts of the ships are made here, the old way!
Kids who are hardly 20 beat the shit out of the red hot metal! Respect!

Rico loved the one and only "modern" piece of equipment, a pre WW II Airhammer.

The finished ship;" the Batavia"
The soldiers deck. For 9 months they were not allowed to go out because
of the risk on fighting with the sailors. Can you imagine this?? 9 Months!!

Stretch Armstrong vs Adam West

Rico almost convinced me Stretch Armstrong would beat the shit out of Adam West.
I mean, I wasn't sure it was possible but he made me doubt my hero's powers.
Man, was i happy to find this vintage special edition from Stretch! History proofs it again; Adam West is the one and only!!

Touring the Lowlands with Lutz and Rico Fodrey

Rico had a few days left after the Choppertown Nation meeting so he and buddy Lutz came over to the Netherlands to hang around a bit.
Last tuesday we went to L&L, the best known chopperbuilders over here.
Cool flathead project

Masterbuilder Beer and Rico.

This must be coolest Evo-sportster ever!!

Next Beer took us the clubhouse from Rogues MC.
An 1% outlaw club founded by Beer late 70's.

Last weekend we all went to Kaldenkirchen, Germany, for the Choppertown Nation Meeting.

Choppertown Kaldenkirchen

As always, no pics from the nighttimes.

But I ran my bike into a wall (no damage, apart from the mental damage that is)
On the camping site we almost got into a fight for three times!
And finaly ended in the caravan with Sven ( el Cheapo) Gilles, their girls and Rico.
Good times!

Morning glory.

And the ride home was perfect! Full throttle Shovel speed!

Does anything beat the 1966 Batmobile?

No I'd say, there's no cooler custom car than the 1966 Batmobile! 'Cause I'm a big sucker for anything that is 1966 Batman!! Let's face it, Adam West is the Batman!!

Still I'd have to admit there is one car cooler than the 1966 Batmobile. It's the base of George Barris's Batmobile; the 1956 Lincoln Futura!!

And what it became!

Shit, both cars gives me the shivers!!
